On May 28, 2026, the Christiani Taicang Training Center officially celebrated its grand opening. Under the theme “Grand Opening Ceremony of the Christiani Taicang Training Center and Introduction & Launch of Training Programs”, the event focused on the introduction of German-standard training systems, inter-company technical training, dual vocational education and training, school-enterprise cooperation, and the development of skilled talent for the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry.

The event brought together government leaders from Taicang, representatives of German enterprises operating in China, vocational education leaders, and industry experts.

Distinguished guests included Mr. Chen Gao, Secretary of the Taicang Municipal Party Committee; Mr. Sheng Haifeng, Member of the Municipal Standing Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Taicang High-Tech Zone; Mr. Li Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of Taicang High-Tech Zone; as well as Mr. Helmut Fromm, President of Christiani Technical Education Group; Dr. Heribert Speth, Managing Director; Mr. Sheng Wang, Asia-Pacific Manager; and Mr. Liang Libin, General Manager Greater China.

Together, they witnessed the official launch of the Christiani Taicang Training Center.

A New Beginning for Industry-Education Integration

During the opening ceremony, Mr. Helmut Fromm, President of Christiani Technical Education Group, delivered a keynote speech. He emphasized that Taicang’s strong industrial foundation and long-standing Sino-German industrial cooperation provide ideal conditions for the localization of the German dual vocational education system. The establishment of the Christiani Taicang Training Center aims to promote the localized implementation of German-standard curricula, core teaching resources, training systems, and assessment methods in China, while supporting the upgrading of regional advanced manufacturing industries.

Mr. Li Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of Taicang High-Tech Zone, noted in his speech that Taicang has always attached great importance to Sino-German cooperation and the cultivation of skilled talent. Over the past two decades, the city has continuously explored localized dual vocational education practices and developed distinctive regional strengths in talent development.

Looking toward emerging industries such as new energy and artificial intelligence, Taicang expects the Christiani Taicang Training Center to leverage its high-quality vocational education resources, deepen customized talent development, promote school-enterprise innovation, and facilitate the introduction of international standards, thereby creating a professional platform that serves industrial development, enterprise capability enhancement, and talent cultivation.

Following the speeches, Mr. Chen Gao, Mr. Sheng Haifeng, Mr. Li Gang, Mr. Helmut Fromm, Dr. Heribert Speth, Mr. Liang Libin, and other distinguished guests jointly pressed the launch button, officially inaugurating the Christiani Taicang Training Center in the presence of all attendees.

Program Launch and Talent Assessment Framework

During the program introduction and launch session, Christiani presented its core value within the German dual vocational education system and provided a comprehensive overview of the training center’s services and assessment framework.
Mr. Liang Libin, General Manager Greater China of Christiani group, delivered a presentation titled “Christiani’s Role and Value within the German Dual Vocational Education System.” Drawing upon the rich history and foundation of Germany’s dual vocational education model, he outlined Christiani’s key role, historical development, and core contributions, demonstrating how nearly a century of vocational education expertise can effectively support localized industry-education integration in China.

Mr. Sheng Wang, Regional Manager Asia-Pacific of Christiani Group, presented “Training Programs and Talent Assessment at the Christiani Taicang Training Center”. His presentation highlighted the center’s training programs for the new energy vehicle sector, practical training systems, pathways for introducing German standards, and assessment methodologies. These offerings provide vocational schools, enterprises, and training institutions with clear and practical solutions for professional program development, employee upskilling, and skilled workforce cultivation.

Expert Insights on Dual Training and NEV Talent Development

The event also featured presentations by experts from German-invested enterprises and international certification organizations, focusing on dual vocational training practices, NEV skills development, and international competency certification.
Mr. Chen Yanlin, Manager of the German Enterprise Skilled Worker Training Center Taicang (DAWT), delivered a presentation entitled “Dual Vocational Training Practices of German Enterprises in Taicang.” Based on more than twenty years of experience supporting German companies in the region, he shared successful models of collaboration between enterprise workforce needs, the regional industrial ecosystem, and dual vocational education.

Ms. Han Juan, Training Product Manager of TÜV SÜD Knowledge Services, presented “Training and Certification for New Energy Vehicle Professionals at TÜV SÜD.” Her presentation addressed growing industry demand for high-voltage safety, standardized operating procedures, compliance-based training, and internationally recognized certification in the rapidly expanding NEV sector.

Mr. Chen Linping, Project Manager for New Vocational Education Programs at BMW Brilliance Automotive, shared practical experiences in “Dual Vocational Training at BMW Brilliance.” As a leading example of Sino-German industrial cooperation and corporate vocational education, BMW Brilliance has accumulated extensive expertise in dual vocational training, corporate learning systems, and skilled workforce development. Through close cooperation with Christiani, the company continues to introduce German standards, training resources, and assessment methodologies while further strengthening apprenticeship programs, employee skills development, and trainer qualification initiatives.

On-Site Visits and Future Cooperation

Following the opening ceremony and program launch sessions, guests toured the Christiani Taicang Training Center to gain first-hand insights into its modular training systems, practical training equipment, and German-style learning environments designed for the new energy vehicle industry. Participants also exchanged ideas on the application of German-standard curricula, enterprise training services, cooperation with educational institutions, and skills assessment systems.
The official opening of the Christiani Taicang Training Center marks a significant milestone in Christiani’s ability to serve enterprises, educational institutions, and industrial development throughout the Yangtze River Delta region. Looking ahead, the center will focus on the needs of the new energy vehicle sector and advanced manufacturing industries, continuously promoting inter-company technical training, workforce upskilling, and the introduction of internationally recognized training standards. In doing so, it will contribute to industrial transformation and provide lasting momentum for high-quality employment and skilled talent development in Taicang and across the Yangtze River Delta.
