Together with the Shenzen Institute of Technology, Christiani has developed a training course on alternative drives in motor vehicles. With this course, trainees in vocational training and further training are trained on high-voltage systems on site in China, following the German model. In addition to the didactic-pedagogical component, the project also included the equipping of a practical technical room.

The newly designed training course on alternative drive systems in motor vehicles is tailor-made to meet local needs. The aim of the course is to continuously train talented students in the field of alternative drive systems for the local automotive industry.

In order to apply the theoretical knowledge in practice, Christiani has equipped a complete technical training lab in Shenzen with training stands for vehicle technology. For example, trainees can safely practice on Christiani’s HV trainer how to de-energize a high-voltage system and how to detect and eliminate faults in the system.

The next step in the project involves continuous on-site training of the teaching staff on the training devices. Teachers at the institute were already able to get to know the training equipment, familiarize themselves with its operation and practice its practical use in an initial training course.

Cooperation between Christiani, TÜV SÜD China and Shenzen Institute of Technology

A cooperation between Christiani, TÜV SÜD China, and the Shenzhen Institute of Technology was already established in November 2019. The aim of the cooperation is to provide education and training in the field of alternative drive systems in motor vehicles. In January 2021, the first phase of the German-Chinese course on alternative drives in motor vehicles was officially launched at the Shenzhen Institute of Technology during an opening ceremony.

Now that the preparations for this have been completed, the training equipment has been put into operation in the new technical training lab and the teachers have been trained on the training equipment, the teachers can use their newfound knowledge for their lessons and pass this hands-on on to their students.

The next and final stages of the project will be the localization of training materials for teachers and students and the implementation of a TÜV SÜD third-party certification system.

Jointly moving into a successful future

During the opening ceremony, Zhu Wentao, Dean of Shenzhen Institute, emphasized the joint efforts of both parties to enable the commissioning of the training stands on alternative drives in motor vehicles and on HV hazards and accident prevention, even in times of a global pandemic. The joint efforts had paid off in terms of the high quality of the Christiani training stands and the German-style safety standards they introduced.
