KARL and Christiani Launch New Laboratory Tables
Put together they combine almost 175 years of experience and know-how. Both the manufacturer of workplace systems KARL from Fahrenzhausen in Bavaria and the educational provider Christiani from Constance were both founded in the 1930s. Now both companies are using their tradition and the power of innovation to launch new teaching systems for education and training.
The companies KARL and Christiani are what is known as “hidden champions”. KARL has developed from a craftsman’s business into Europe’s leading specialist for ESD-compatible workplace and logistics systems. Christiani started as the first distance learning institute in Germany. Today the company is a full-range supplier in the field of technical training and further training. The product range extends from specialist books and other teaching media to training systems and complete laboratories and workshops for vocational training and further training.
The two companies are combining their know-how as workplace systems and training providers to jointly develop ergonomic, practical workplace solutions for technical training and further training.
“For us, the cooperation with Christiani is a great stroke of luck,” explains Andreas Karl, managing director of KARL GmbH & Co. KG. “Because with Christiani, we can occupy a niche in our portfolio and offer products that are perfectly suited to the needs of vocational training and further training”.
The first products are already available: these are four laboratory tables and a training place system, which are used in the vocational training and further training of electrical engineering, mechatronics and automation technology, among other things. KARL has designed and manufactured the new line of laboratory tables especially in cooperation with Christiani. The laboratory tables are equipped with supply modules, electronic devices and an experimental frame. Learning boards from Christiani are mounted in this frame, where trainees learn the basics of their subject. In addition to the tables and other “hardware components”, Christiani also offers didactically prepared documents with which trainers can impart the required knowledge to the trainees.
Christiani is also pursuing big goals with this cooperation. “The KARL company fulfils our requirements for an efficient teaching system to a particular degree,” explains Ralf Detzel, managing director at Christiani. “Because KARL knows the requirements of the industry very well. The products are particularly ergonomic and practical. And it is precisely this kind of practical orientation that is also important in training and further education.
So both companies are starting off with high expectations and it will be interesting to see which solutions will be developed for vocational training and further training.
