Christiani Teaching Systems for Electrical Engineering

Embedded Learning Concepts for Vocational Education and Training Practice

We offer a complete solution for teaching the basics of electrical engineering in a didactic and practice-oriented way.

mobileLab

The aluminium cases can be used to teach the basics of electrical engineering in a mobile way. Thanks to the battery-supported power supply, the cases can be used flexibly and regardless of location. Measuring instruments, power supply and cables are already included in the case. Ready to start – wherever you like!

Training Boards in A4 Format

Training boards are an excellent choice for vocational training in electrical engineering. Due to the standard height of 297 mm (DIN A4) of the front panels, the training boards can be used in all common experimental frames.

The training board is designed with a desk housing, which alternatively allows desktop use. The components built into the front panels are each arranged in a didactically useful way and supplemented by graphic and/or colour elements so that technical correlations are easy to understand.

Teaching Systems

Out teaching systems are “all-round carefree packages”! They include everything needed to equip a complete workplace for a specific subject area.

These are, for example, one or more A4 training boards and the matching accessories, such as laboratory cables, components and software. The matching experiment instructions are also included.

Our patented mobileLab cases for basic and initial electrotechnical training meet the highest demands in terms of compact design, flexible learning locations, complete scope of delivery and scope of experiments.

Flexible Learning Place:

Your teaching system no longer decides where you learn in the future! The power supply for the mobileLab is ensured by the rechargeable batteries contained in the case. This means that all the necessary voltages for the experiments are directly available, with one battery charge with sufficient reserves being sufficient for the respective experiments.

Full Scope of Delivery:

Open the case – everything is inside! Our mobileLab contains plug-in elements and connectors, experimental boards, cables and measuring devices (multimeter, etc.). No further accessories are required for the experiments!

Additional Features:

In case the battery is not enough or fails, it can be recharged immediately with the plug-in power supply unit included in the scope of delivery. The case can also be charged with the plug-in power supply. The mobileLab is operated exclusively with extra-low voltage. This means it is completely safe for beginners. In addition, the integrated overload protection ensures that no damage occurs even in the event of operating errors.

The mobileLab cases are available in 3 versions:

  • mobileLab DC Case

for experiments with direct voltage to teach knowledge from the field of basic circuits of direct current technology, e.g.

  • Build and understand a simple electrical circuit
  • Learn about, understand and apply Ohm’s law
  • Build, calculate and measure series and parallel circuits of resistors
  • Build and analyse unloaded/loaded voltage dividers
  • Combining capacitors into series and parallel circuits
  • Building and understanding a self-holding circuit with relays

The mobileLab DC is a “closed” system. However, further experiments can be carried out using an experimental board with a universal grid.

  • mobileLab AC Case

for experiments with alternating voltage as an introduction to the basics of alternating current technology, e.g.

  • Get to know resistance, capacitor and inductance in an AC circuit
  • Analyse the behaviour of capacitor and inductance at square-wave alternating voltage
  • Record and analyse characteristic curves of electronic components
  • Using and understanding transistors as controllable resistors and as amplifiers
  • Build and understand stabilising circuits with Zener diode and transistor
  • Building and evaluating a push-pull amplifier output stage
  • Understand and apply basic operational amplifier circuits

The mobileLab AC can also be supplemented with a DC test series using a supplementary set consisting of plug-in elements and test foils.

  • mobileLab DIGITAL Case

for experiments to introduce the basics and circuits of digital technology. This includes e.g.

  • Understand functional equations of basic elements of digital technology
  • Get to know circuit symbols and function diagrams of the basic elements
  • Create and understand wiring diagrams based on function diagrams
  • Understanding and creating function tables of digital circuits and signal-time diagrams
  • Getting to know and analysing inverters and buffers

The mobileLab DIGITAL can also be used for experiments with Arduino. There is a separately available experimental board for this purpose.

Experiment instructions each for trainers (solutions) and trainees (exercises) as well as a charging cabinet for storage and simultaneous fully automatic charging for up to eight mobileLab are available separately.

Training Boards

There is hardly a teaching system as firmly established in electrical engineering as training boards. The predefined A4 size is always the same, regardless of the manufacturer, only the widths vary. In addition to the many design variants, there are also a number of different designations that nevertheless mean the same thing. For Example: Training Board, Learning Board, A4 Board, Experimental Board or Experimental Plate, and many more. From Christiani you can get the original training boards with a transparent case!

Training boards are available for almost all topics in electrical engineering. Depending on the scope or requirements of the topic, one or more training boards are needed. This means that you can not only choose from a wide range of training boards, but also add a number of accessories, e.g. cables, motors, plug-in elements, software, experiment instructions and other supplements.

For this reason, training boards are ideal for imparting individual training content, as they can be put together according to requirements. We offer the training boards individually or as a ready-made package solution. In this way, you can usefully expand your existing stock.

How are training boards used?

Training boards are usually used in an A4 experimental frame, which in most cases is mounted on a laboratory table with appropriate built-in equipment. Training boards are usually used to teach the basics, which is why increased protection against accidental contact and the use of laboratory safety cables are a basic requirement. With the transparent console housings, these can also be used for desktop applications and at the same time provide an insight into an exemplary device design.

Teaching Systems

You have come to the right place if you are looking for a complete package for specialist practical training in a laboratory environment, on a specific topic in electrical engineering! Teaching systems are usually one or more training boards that cover the corresponding topic. In addition, everything is included in the package so that you can start teaching immediately.

Included in the package are accessories such as:

  • Suitably assembled laboratory cable sets
  • Connection or mains cables
  • Plug-in elements
  • Motors
  • Illuminants
  • Parts for assembly
  • Test specimens
  • Software
  • etc.

The appropriate experiment instructions are also always included. You can find out which packages are suitable for your training occupation in the article under the heading “Suitable for”!

Laboratory tables, measuring instruments and power supplies are not included in the teaching system.
