Christiani Africa on a delegation trip to Zambia on the topic of education and training
Last week Christiani Africa had the Kick-off for our delegation trip to Zambia on the topic of education and training in Lusaka. Together with our partners Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and iMove, we were at the German Embassy for the briefing and were able to establish initial contacts at the reception in the residence of Ambassador Dr Anne Wagner-Mitchell.
Our Christiani employee, Tristan White, was on a journey to Lusaka’s outskirts. There, in the company of an AHK representative, he met with the project leader for AKTC. AKTC is a joint project between the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Zambia’s Ministry of Agriculture. They focus on providing practical training using contemporary agricultural machinery, with collaboration from nine German companies. Notably, AKTC is exploring the use of virtual reality to simulate certain processes and training aspects. Later in the day, there was a meeting in Lusaka with Ms Nicole Hewer from GOPA Infra. The discussion was about the water and sanitation projects they are engaged in and explored how Christiani´s range of products might address their challenges. The day concluded with a flight to Kitwe, followed by a meeting with the president of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to explore collaborative educational opportunities in Zambia.
On the next day Mr. White took part in a conference at the Southern Sun Garden Court Hotel, where he introduced Christiani and our offerings. After the presentation, there were B2B interactions with Zambian private sector representatives. Noteworthy was the engagement with professionals from Kitwe’s mining sector who are keen on leveraging digital solutions to simulate high-risk environments. This aids in providing students with practical experience in a safe setting.
Thursday began with a visit to an active copper mine, providing firsthand insight into its operations and skill requirements. Later, they toured to the Mopani TVET Centre, an advanced training facility serving Zambia. They utilise modern technologies, including virtual platforms, and have a broad array of training equipment across various disciplines.
Christiani is pleased to be represented at this informative and interesting delegation trip to Zambia. We look forward to connecting with new partners and are happy for the informative exchange we had!
